Folkes Holdings is a multi-disciplinary investment and trading business predominantly based in the UK, Channel Islands and South Africa.
Established as a small family business more than 300 years ago, today Folkes Holdings remains entirely under family ownership and control and actively manages a diverse portfolio of investment assets and trading businesses with a total value in excess of £370m.
Sectors in which Folkes Holdings operates include real estate, heavy engineering, financing, venture capital, agriculture, tourism and a family office investment division. The group is predominantly based in the UK, Channel Islands and South Africa and its engineering division serves a global client base across 46 countries.
Real Estate
Folkes operates a commercial real estate portfolio across the UK and South Africa, extending to 3m sqft and valued in the region of £200m. In the UK the company operates a Midlands-based industrial and warehouse portfolio, whilst in South Africa it specialises in developing and letting retail malls, warehouses and mixed use schemes. here.
Engineering
Our engineering portfolio includes a world leading open die forge where it all began for the group, today we pride ourselves in being experts in the finish machining and refurbishment of ship propulsion shafts. You may think you have never come across our products but from the deepest oceans to outer space our forgings are pushing the boundaries of manufacturing excellence.
Family Office
Entrepreneurship is something we understand, and smart money is what we are. We have the ready capital and in-house expertise to not only back attractive opportunities with value-aligned partners, but are able to provide strategic advice from our multi-disciplinary team, and access to our highly acclaimed network. We seek to participate in asset-backed investments with credible partners across the UK, Europe and South Africa.
